Emerging format, targeting a fresh demographic.
Why is The New Eagle subtly conservative?
The station’s format, outlined in surprisingly frank language on The New Eagle’s web site:
The New EAGLE is designed to target both the male and female 35-54 year old Country listener, the group that research says is the most dissatisfied with the music they hear on Country radio today. This is the Baby Boomer audience that first began listening to Country music in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s and now wonders why Country radio doesn’t play THEIR favorites anymore.
The station attracts this demographic by playing an eclectic country music mix, through minimal doses of conservative commentary, and by live broadcasting NASCAR events.
